Investiture Ceremony IV. Fat OR Fit’ ‘Fat OR Fit’, an initiative taken by the students of DPS Greater Noida as a part of ISA Project, has inculcated in the students healthy living habits. Comic strips made by the students, opened their eyes to the ills of obesity. They realized the necessity of being fit, and were happy to take part in yoga. Yoga, today, has become a regular part of their morning ritual before they begin their lessons. BMI calculation and questionnaire made them realize their health quotient. The excited students made a PPT, to show how they plan to develop healthy food habits in their canteen. The zealous fervor of the students towards the Fit to Fat activities were appreciated by teachers and parents alike. This activity proved to be a benchmark for both the students and the teachers.

V. Solar Soldering:
We now have an eco-committee with two representatives from each class. They have done campaigns, such as turning the lights off and conserving energy when at lunch. All these have helped not only in the actual conservation of energy in the classroom, but also in their general awareness. Then they take it home, nag their parents about it and are contributing to form a greener community. It's been a brilliant success. We keep track using information fitted in the corridor so every time the children walk past, they can see all the numbers. The children update you all the time. We had an assembly, which explained what all the figures mean so they can access it and understand it. They not only have awareness of their impact on the environment but they also care more. It's like a challenge to them. There has become a real buzz about the place and how they can achieve that and make it even better. The project clicked and started everything. They have become aware of the whole issue of sustainability, moving forward and what their planet will be like if they don't look after it. Last year when we had the panels fitted they did a monitoring of the energy used in the school. The students studied the charts of our energy consumption and then analyzed the comparison. They were so excited they had made the graph go down a little bit because they had used less energy than the month before. There were a lot of discussions in October because we had Diwali lights everywhere and it went back up again. It was good because we were able to show them consequences of using different electrical appliances and the need for it to be sustained. Being green is not only benefiting the environment but the quality of the life of our pupils. It is very much a part of our school values. We are a rights-respecting school and our children have a right to a clean environment. They also have the responsibility for looking after their environment: solar panels support that ethos, Slogan Writing on Save Energy
